Minlaton Foodland going the extra mile to deliver real country service

 25 May 2020

VICKI Love has owned Minlaton Foodland for 16 years. She started working in the supermarket over 35 years ago as a casual store assistant when her children were young, and worked her way up to a management position before buying into the business in 2004. Vicki purchased the store outright in 2013, when her son-in-law Michael Preedy joined the team as Store Manager.

Her daughters Kelly and Sarah both started working in the supermarket when they were 9 years old, packing and carrying groceries on Saturday mornings. Vicki’s son Joseph also worked there part-time during high school. “There actually isn’t a family member who hasn’t worked here at some point,” said Vicki.

Since returning home to work in the family business, Sarah and Kelly now work alongside their mother to help manage the finance, marketing and social media side of the business.

“We are passionate about providing great food and all your favourite brands, along with the best supermarket experience on Yorke Peninsula,” Vicki said.

“We’re really excited to be able to provide online shopping as another option for our customers, as we understand coming into the supermarket is not always practical for everyone.” said Vicki. “From parents with small children, to the elderly and vulnerable, our customers have been incredibly enthusiastic and appreciative of our new online service”.

“Our new Click & Collect service is available Monday to Friday, you can purchase your groceries online and I’ll deliver them straight to your boot, there is no need for you to even get out of your car,” Michael said. “And if you can’t get to the shop, we also offer a home delivery service to Minlaton and surrounding towns.” he continued.

They currently offer home deliveries to Minlaton, Curramulka, Wauraltee, Koolywurtie, Port Rickaby, Bluff Beach, Parsons Beach, Brentwood, Hardwicke Bay, Stansbury and Port Vincent.

Vicki maintains the key to her success has everything to do with her team. They pride themselves on the special blend of country style customer service they offer all their customers, as well as their community involvement.

Vicki is a huge believer in shopping locally, and is proud to support her community, and those who support her. In her 16 years as owner, Vicki has supported most if not all local the community groups, schools, and sporting clubs in the area, believing when it comes to sponsorship, “if you support your customers, they in turn will support you,” she said.

Minlaton Foodland is open seven days a week and offers late-night shopping until 6.30pm Thursdays.
