Boasting some of the world’s best wine, gorgeous cellar doors, picturesque picnic spots and plenty of fun activities for the whole family, a trip to Clare Valley is a must!
Here are our top things to do in Clare Valley…
Experience the Riesling Trail
Arguably one of the best ways to experience the beautiful Clare Valley, the Riesling Trail was originally a railway line that travelled between Adelaide and Spalding. 35 kilometres long, the trail now runs from Auburn to Clare and is located two hours north of Adelaide. It is suitable for recreational walkers, mountain and touring bikes as well as wheelchairs and pushers.
The Riesling Trail travels past many cellar doors and other visitor attractions making it the perfect way to experience the region!

Visit historic wineries
Cellar doors galore! Clare Valley is synonymous with fine wine (and great Riesling especially!). Boasting more than 50 cellar doors, with some operating out of historic stone cottages and heritage buildings, you’ll have your breath taken away by the gorgeous views and beautiful old buildings around the town.
Make sure to learn all about the history of wine in Clare Valley and take some time out to learn how the wines were created and experience the winemaking process.
And luckily for you, all cellar doors are within 40 kilometres of each other! So, the Riesling Trail will come in handy for this one.

Have a family fun day out
Although known for its brilliant wine there’s plenty of things to do in the Clare Valley region!
A truly unique experience the Mintaro Maze is fun for the whole family. Lose yourself among 800 conifers featuring foundations, twists and turns.
Make sure to visit Clare Valley Model Engineers for model train rides or visit the famous Martindale Hall, which appeared in the Picnic at the Hanging Rock film.
After the perfect picnic spot? World’s End Reserve, Burra Creek and Richardson Park Playspace are great!
And, if you’re after a slice of history, visit the Market Square Museum in Burra.
