A Message to Our Customers
15 April 2020
Dear Customers,
We continue to live through an unprecedented time in our history, with the recent outbreak of COVID-19 impacting the way all of us go about our everyday lives. In the midst of the rapid change we are experiencing, I would like to reassure you that your local Foodland will continue to remain open and be here for you and your family during this time.
At Foodland we are doing everything we can to ensure we keep you safe when you shop with us and make sure you have access to all of the food and essentials you need. The health and safety of our valued customers and our team members is important as ever, as is caring for our Mighty South Aussie community. With these priorities in mind, we would like to update you on a few initiatives we’ve undertaken in our stores.
Acts of Kindness Cards
We’ve launched a new initiative to help keep the SA community connected and encourage kindness and positivity during these challenging times. Our Acts of Kindness cards are designed to encourage Mighty South Aussies to lend a hand to neighbours in need, such as the elderly or those who are isolating, or to simply provide a helping hand to a neighbour. Pick up an Act of Kindness card from your local Foodland next time you visit us.
Safety in Store
Please also ensure you shop as quickly as possible, shop with the least amount of family members, do not engage in conversation with friends you meet while shopping, and follow all requests from staff and adhere to signage information around the store.
We ask that you don’t visit us if you:
– Have been overseas in the past 14 days
– Are experiencing a cough or fever
– Have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
We have introduced social distancing in our stores in line with public health recommendations. Please maintain a trolley distance between you and other shoppers and follow instructions of signage and staff in store. You will now see our Social Distancing floor stickers throughout all of our stores, which remind our customers to stay at least 1.5m metres away from others at all times.
Many of our stores are limiting the number of customers allowed in the store at one time, utilising a one in, one out policy in line with social distancing guidelines. The number of people allowed inside your local Foodland at any one time is dependent on the size of the store.
Cleaning and Hygiene
We have significantly increased all of our store hygiene practices, including conducting regular deep cleaning and sanitisation. All “high touch” surfaces are regularly cleaned throughout the day. Please wash or sanitise your hands before you visit one of our stores and help us stop the spread.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we navigate these extraordinary times together, and thank you to our Foodland retailers and front line staff for their continued hard work and commitment to our local community. The vital role that these people play in the fabric of our society is more important now than ever before. We know if we continue to work together as a community and look out for one another, we will get through this and overcome this unprecedented challenge that we face.
The Foodland Team
