Recipe - Lemonade scones

  • 3 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 1 cup thickened cream
  • 1 cup lemonade
  • Whipped cream to serve
  • Jam to serve


  • Large mixing bowl
  • 6cm round cutter
  • Lined baking tray


Try these quick and easy three ingredient scones for a Sunday morning brunch.

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line tray with baking paper.
  2. Combine self raising flour, cream and lemonade in a bowl and mix until combined. Try not to over mix as this will make the scones dense.
  3. Place dough onto a floured surface and knead gently, then pat into a disc shape 2.5cm thick.
  4. Use a 6cm round cutter to cut round shapes. Flour cutter in-between.
  5. Use a knife or spatula to scoop up and place onto lined baking tray, slightly touching each other.
  6. Bake for 14 minutes until golden on top. Place on a rack to cool. Place tea towel over them to avoid tops from getting crusty.
  7. Serve with whipped cream and your favourite jam!

Makes 10 scones.
