Recipe - Beef Korma

Beef Korma by Foodland Recipe Kitchen

Serves: 4-5

Ingredients

  • 1kg Australian Premium Beef Chuck Braising Steak
  • 2 tbsp ghee or oil
  • 1 medium red onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 400ml coconut milk can
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Spices
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes (optional)

Equipment

  • Heavy soup pot

Instructions

  1. Heat pot on stove, medium-high heat. Add the ghee/oil and onions, cook for a few minutes
  2. Add the tomato paste and spices to the onions, and stir through for roughly 30 seconds
  3. Add the garlic and ginger, stirring for another 30 seconds or until fragrant
  4. Add the beef and stir through until most edges have browned
  5. Add the coconut milk and sugar
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for about 40-45 minutes, or until the meat is tender. During this time add salt to taste.
  7. Note: Keep stirring every 10 minutes to prevent the sauce from sticking at the bottom.
  8. Serve with fresh basmati rice
