South Australian Brands Rally Together to Support the SAWCA through Foodland Scone Drive

Foodland Scones Story

Foodland and several iconic South Aussie brands have come together for a Scone Drive in support of the South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA), starting on September 9th.

With the Royal Adelaide Show typically being a major source of fundraising for the SACWA, Foodland, Vili’s, Laucke and Nature’s Delight have stepped in to help this year by creating limited edition SA Country Women’s Association scones.

Baked by Vili’s with scone mix donated by Laucke Flour Mills and sultanas donated by Nature’s Delight, $1 from every pack sold will go directly to the SACWA, to ensure they can continue the great work they do to serve and support the local South Australian community.

Franklin dos Santos, Chief Executive Officer at Foodland Supermarkets, is proud to be working with SACWA, an organisation that he says has a lot of synergy with Foodland. With only a limited number of scones being baked, Mr dos Santos encourages South Australians to get their hands on a pack as soon as they hit shelves!

“The fact that these have been created for such a good cause and by four iconic South Aussie brands, means these are sure to sell out quickly,” he says.

Mr dos Santos is appreciative of all the hard work and dedication it has taken from Vili’s, Laucke Flour Mills and Nature’s Delight to bring this project to life.

“Vili’s were generous enough to provide us with the facilities and labour to make the scones, Laucke Flour Mills donated 1 tonne of their flour mix, and the fruit scones are made with Nature’s Delight premium, 5-crown sultanas—they donated a whopping 600 kilos of them to make this project happen!” he says.

SACWA State President Roslyn Schumann is delighted to partner with Foodland on this initiative.

“Just like SACWA, Foodland is an iconic South Australian organisation and we know many of our members are strong supporters of the brand,” she says. “We are very grateful that such a well-known South Australian company has chosen to support SACWA at such a challenging time and look forward to a long and productive relationship.”

The scones come in packs of 4 with a plain and a fruit version, retailing for $3.50. They will be available for purchase between the 9th and 15th of September 2020 at your local Foodland store, while stocks last.
